THE WASTE-TO-ENERGY INDUSTRY
Waste-to-energy (WtE) or energy-from-waste (EfW) is the process of creating energy in the form of electricity or heat from the incineration of waste source. The waste-to-energy industry is long-standing and can be quite lucrative even as it stays innovative, expanding into wide-reaching areas of the world. The demand for energy development loans continues to increase as this sector remains an attractive market for developers and entrepreneurs. However, raising the right capital with the right conditions is one of the most difficult challenges faced by today's energy entrepreneurs. This is where an experienced and award-winning Merchant Banker can help.
FUNDING A WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECT
A great feature in funding waste-to-energy projects is the fact that traditional funding instruments can be and often are used, and no special accommodations or arrangements need to be added on to a funding arrangement involving waste-to-energy.
The best case scenario is if the developer has an off-take agreement (agreement in which a third party that has signed a contract guaranteeing that they will be buying the promoter's output for a certain length of time in the future) right from the start as for investors it is a guarantee of return on their investment.
THE FUNDING PROCESS
On the business end of a waste-to-energy project, the promoter/ project owner is required to produce essentially the same basic information and documents as he/she would in any other type of project:
Feasibility Study (if you have it)
Any and all information and documents connected with the technology to be used
We work on waste-to-energy projects (domestic/international) in the range of $7M million - $500 million.
